The National Drive is home!

The National Drive has found a new home at the Hoosier Horse Park in Edinburgh, Indiana. After two successful events, spring and fall, you have told us this is the place to be, going forward. Attendees in 2018 used words like "relaxing", "quiet", "friendly" and "something for every one".

The Hoosier Horse Park, home of the Indiana CDE for 25 years, is a quiet, picturesque park consisting of miles of trails and wide-open spaces. Many opted to drive the competitors' routes through the woods or dabble in eight hazards, two of which are water, while others liked the drive off-campus to visit the P.O.W. Chapel or the winding path through the abandoned golf course. Of course, you may drive as many of these trails as many times as you like, and many did. We have areas to work on the flat in two dressage rings and cones course(s), maybe even a derby, as well as an arena for the Pooch Parade, Tacky Turnout or private lessons.

You're close to stalls, tent/office, parking and camping; no more long-distance travel back to the camper or trailer. Golf carts are available (contact the secretary to confirm). No admission charges, no traffic or extra horse fees; just low rates and lots of fun.

Off-campus activities include an outlet mall, Little Nashville, historic downtown Franklin and Edinburgh, the Brown County Art Colony and Indianapolis, all just minutes away. The Taylorsville and Franklin exits off I-65 afford many fine restaurants and hotels, several pet-friendly.

If you've never visited Hoosier Horse Park, you're in for a pleasant surprise. Ask anyone who has been there, they'll tell you it has a lot to offer and should not be missed just because of a few extra miles. Did we mention you'll save money? Make your plans to attend next year's activities in Indiana. You'll be glad you did.

The National Drive appreciates the continued support of participants, vendors and sponsors, and looks forward to continuing the driving (and riding) tradition.

Carriage Driving for Everyone

The absolute best thing about this recreational event is the people who attend - carriage drivers and riders of all skill levels.  The common factor is their great attitude of lending a helping hand when needed.  From our clinicians to our staff to our drivers and riders in attendance, we are a very laid-back group of people.  You can drive and ride through the Hoosier Horse Park and mix with awesome people who will make you feel like you have been at a family reunion. "It's the most fun you can have with your clothes on."

"The National Drive is a stand-alone event, unique in its purpose, with a growing following of equestrians from varied backgrounds, enjoying countless types of activities while riding and driving many different kinds of equines, all coming together to enjoy the camaraderie and non-competitive atmosphere with only two rules - be safe and have fun."
